Peritoneal Cancer Symptoms: How To Recognize The Signs And Symptoms Of Peritoneal Cancer In Women.

The peritoneal is a thin covering that lines the inside wall and covers the uterus, the bladder and the rectum. Its main job in the body is to produce a lubricating fluid that allows other organs to move within the abdomen. Although it is rare, the peritoneal can develop cancer. Knowing the most common peritoneal cancer symptoms can help the individual know when it is time to seek the advise of the physician. Peritoneal cancer symptoms are quite often known as silent symptoms. They can also vary with each case, therefore making a diagnosis much harder then in some other types of cancer. One of the most common peritoneal cancer symptoms is stomach or abdomen pain.

Gas, nausea and bloating are also common peritoneal cancer symptoms. Cramps, constipation and indigestion have been noted in many when describing their peritoneal cancer symptoms. A loss of appetite and diarrhea are common place peritoneal cancer symptoms, along with the need to urinate frequently. Peritoneal cancer symptoms often mock those of ovarian cancer and in fact the two can be tied together. Women that have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer many times will also be affected with peritoneal cancer. Since the peritoneal cancer symptoms tend to be almost exactly the same as ovarian cancer symptoms, the individual should seek medical attention as soon as possible if the symptoms persist.

Often times peritoneal cancer symptoms will include a weight loss or gain for no specific reason. The person may also have a loss of appetite and may feel lethargic and lack energy. Abnormal vaginal bleeding or a change in menstruation can be potential peritoneal cancer symptoms if they are persistent and do not go away within a certain amount of time. Because peritoneal cancer symptoms can be nearly impossible to recognize in some women, it is imperative that those suffering from any of the above peritoneal cancer symptoms seek advise from their family physician as soon as possible. To date there is no known cause why some women will be diagnosed with peritoneal cancer, but if there is a history of breast cancer in the family it tends to increase the chances of developing peritoneal cancer.
